Using of Language Learning Styles and Strategies Perceived by Undergraduate Students in Private University: A Case of Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the use of language learning styles andstrategies perceived by undergraduate students in private university at Thai-Nichi Institute ofTechnology and 2) to gather supplemental suggestions. Research samples were 341undergraduate students at Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology in second semester of 2017academic year, derived through simple random sampling technique. The instruments used forgathering the data were the rating-scale and open-ended questionnaire. The statistics used foranalyzing the data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and contentanalysis. The research findings were 1) the use of language learning styles and strategiesperceived by undergraduate students in private university at Thai-Nichi Institute ofTechnology in overall was at a high level and 2) some supplemental suggestions from theundergraduate students were to use technology and social media in the class and to encouragethe critical thinking in language pedagogy.
