Abstract
In this paper, a workshop, which is designed based on a gamification theory, for students who learn Japanese language is mentioned. In this workshop, the participants enjoy a book review match, Bibliobattle, and try to win an international Bibliobattle competition, The world Bibliobattle championship. The workshop was held from 26 July to 13 September 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. First, the formal rules of Bibliobattle and practices in which Bibliobattle is played in language classes are shown as the backgrounds. Then, the outline of the workshop is mentioned. Questionnaires were conducted to investigate the effects of the workshop. The results show that the workshop effected positively on the attitudes for learning of the participants.
